In 2019, the Food Bank distributed 325,043 Senior Nutrition food kits through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). These went to an average of almost 28,000 seniors every month at 146 sites throughout Los Angeles County.

Each kit weighs approximately 30 pounds and contains mostly shelf-stable staples such as milk, beans, grains and canned fruits and vegetables.

We are proud to facilitate the largest CSFP in the country and eternally grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible.

CSFP is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) program which provides monthly food kits to seniors.

The Mobile Food Pantry Redirects Food Away From Landfills and Delivers it to Communities in Need Before Nutritious Items go to Waste

With the ability to travel, the MFP can address food insecurity where it hurts the most while finding homes for fresh, perishable food items before they go to waste. In 2019, our MFP travelled to 19 sites throughout LA County. Volunteers and Food Bank staff work together to distribute produce, grains, bread, meat, dairy and other nutritious items directly to our neighbors.
